Celis Breaks Own Record For 3rd Week In Row →
For the third straight week, Arianna Celis (Sr., Perris, Calif., Riverside CC) lowered the school record in the 1500m. Celis won the race in a time of 4:30.49. She was almost two seconds faster than the second place runner in the event. Celis finished fourth in the 800m (2:12.22) in her first race of the weekend.

Highland freshman Savannah Berry won the 1600 / 3200 double. Her sister Nichole was a very good runner a few years ago btw. Amazingly Berry did not run cross country this past fall. Looks like I got permits for mid August and now the fun begins with training for it I have a good team lined up so far.
Diana, Denni and Stephen will join me on my 3rd attempt to summit the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states. Hopefully dropping an hour off my marathon time helps me.

Getting ready to head out to Hart Park for a 20 mile run in preparation for the Leona Divide 50 Miler in a month.
First ten will be with my fellow racers of the Kern Trail Run, then I plan to do the course in reverse. Should be good tired leg practice.
Then on Sunday join me at 7am for the Yokuts & Bagel Hike.

Did two laps of the Bakersfield Distance Project’s Fartlek 2km course at Beach Park. First lap was slow and the second was even slower.
My run campers looked a lot better on those hills than I did. Was nice that Centennial coach Vondre Armour dropped by, he plans to train with us soon. As a Driller, he won a state 800 title.

Started the day by walking the youngest to school and then I did my odd walk to bagels and back. My odd walk is where I run 30 steps on the odd minutes.
Near the train tracks, Stockdale junior Cameron Miller was taking advantage of a late school start day by getting in a run.

I am sitting in Diana’s Mustang and it is 10pm. It is a nice comfortable car even when it is not moving. Which it has been doing for hours with hundreds of other cars just outside of Gorman.
